Structural bonding with resins is increasingly used in all sectors where the weight/performance combination plays a determinant role.
The use of resins for structural bonding has several advantages:
- It semplifies the construction by increasing its strenght and rigidity;
- It prevents fatigue failures by ensuring a uniform distribution of strains and maintaining structural integrity;
- It reduces production costs by removing or reducing conventional methods of attatchments ( screws, rivets or welds);
- It reduces the cost of materials and weight, allowing the use of thinner materials without affecting the performance of the product;
- It allows to combine materials such as metal with plastic, metal with glass, etc.
Trias Chem can develop, on a project basis, one or two-component systems for specific structural bonding.
The main products for the applications described above are:
Impregnation of fiber tissue, wood, carbon, kevlar or wood with vacuum bag. Post-curing is advisable.
Epoxy system for handworks and stratification even with the help of vacuum bag. Also suitable for polystyrene coatings. The resin colour (light blue) makes the control easy during the impregnation fabrics. System for lamination and modelling.
Epoxy system thermoresistant for impregnation of glass, carbon or kevlar fabric at atmospheric pressure or under vacuum or with vacuum bag. Post curing is highly recommended to obtain maximum thermal resistance. Excellent mechanical and thermal properties.
Bicomponent epoxy system, solvent-free, low thixotropy. The variable mixing ratio allows to change the thermal resistance and the elastic modulus. Particularly suitable for composites and aluminium.
Bicomponent epoxy system, filled with non abrasive fillers which allow a very good machinability. Easy to colour. Excellent adhesive for marble and granite.
Bicomponent epoxy system. Fast curing. Good resistance to delamination and to water. Universal sealer for frames in metal, wood, glass, plastic, composites.
