Release agents

Release agents are fundamental for the processing of resins. The successful outcome of the work depends also on this. The choice on the release agent is based on several parameters such as:

  • the support to release;

  • the release agent applying system (spray can with spray coating machine or by hand);

  • the kind of resin that will be directly applied on the release agent;

  • the temperature, that is the exothermal peak developed by resins;

  • the requested surface (for example glossy or matt);

  • the next processing stages on the mould or handwork (eventual coating system);

  • the release agent permanence;

  • the cleaning mould.

Trias Chem disposes of a wide range of release agents, from the most traditional ones, only for epoxy or polyurethane resins, to the second-generation ones that are semi-permanent and for advanced composites. Our release agents are made of wax, silicon or are polymeric. They can be liquid or pastes to apply by brush/ spray or manually with different pads.

Release agents currently in production today are of medium-fast curing and are mainly suitable for releasing resins. The experience gained in resins formulation and the co-operation with customers in the development of production processes enable us to advice the user about the most suitable product or cycle.
